The Orientation camp was filled with many great memories and lessons that brought me closer to God
Even though it was the first time meeting many of the other people in iXchange, it only took an hour for me to feel as if I’m talking to well known friends.
The 1st day was very enjoyable as we played fun games in the car on the way to Mankele Campsite where we would spend the next 4 days with all the different pastors. We spent the first day learning about Humbling ourselves before God in order to fully submit to God and His Plans for us. We also played fun games such as volleyball and Crazy 8 which was a cool experience.
The 2nd day was eventful as we started the day with an early morning prayer where after we followed with a nice 12km hike to a zipline spanning over 300m in total. But on the way to the zipline we experienced the different types of amphibious creatures and plants.
We were also able to enjoy ourselves in a little pond that had a zipline going across that you could use to jump into the water. Afterwards we had wonderful sessions with Ps G. and Ps Melusi just learning more about the Word of God.
Day 3 came around where we went on another hike to go sightseeing the waterfall that was a few kilometers away from our campsite . We came across a hoard of monkeys on the way to the waterfall which was a unique experience.
Afterwards we were invited to play a friendly volleyball game against a group of people from a nearby center which used the resort’s volleyball court on a weekly basis, I think it was safe to say that we were outmatched in that game as we were dominated from the start. At the end of the day we had a couple of sessions with Ps John where we shared stories about experiencing the presence of God and revelations in our life. Ps John and the seniors were reminiscing about previous iXchange journeys they went on while we enjoyed some wonderfully melted marshmellos we toasted on the braai.
The 4th and last day was rather short but sweet as we had another session with Ps John and Matt before packing up and coming back to Witbank.
Before heading back to Witbank we ended off the Orientation Camp with a basketball shootout.
