CHARIOTS OF LIGHT TOUR 2025

Saturday 27 September:

Saturday was a very special day for me because it was my first time going out on a Chariots of Light outreach. Myself and Thomas had to be at the Primary School before the rest of the group in order to install new taps in their bathroom sinks as well as installing toilet seats in all of their bathrooms. We soon after welcomed all of the bikers and supporters to the school where Oom Empie did a welcoming and group allocation from everyone to go out in order to spread the Good News.

It was an enjoyable experience to go into the streets surrounding the school to meet new people and preach to them the gospel to ultimately get them to pray the prayer of salvation. It brought me great joy to have led a couple of people to Christ with salvation prayers, by leading people in recommitment prayers who have drifted away from god, as well as to just pray for people regarding matters in their life [finances, jobs, good health and protection from the enemy’s attacks]

I can say that I was rather shocked at the end of the day how easy it actually was to go out and bring people the Good News, because I had a bit of anxiety and doubt about whether I could do this and not fail miserably while trying to get people saved and reborn in the week before.

After we had finished spreading the Good News in the community I played some games with the younger kids such as rock, paper, scissors; and a bit of soccer.

I also enjoyed the experience of seeing all of the bikers arrive at the Primary School at the beginning of the day…

Monday 29 September

Monday was a rather busy day in terms of getting everything ready for the tour that we would have in the Laeveld region, I had to help get every trailer fully packed and ready to go before Ps. John and Brother Bill had spoken to us, which was a bit of a rush and a challenge with the rain that came half-way through the packing.

Me and Thomas soon after hit the road where we had some Holy conversations regarding various topics that Brother Kenneth Copeland, Brother Jerry Savelle,Brother Hagin and Ps. John had spoken about over the years.

We had after some time arrived at Merry Pebbles where we would set up camp for the week, which was a challenge in itself due to the rain and wind that wasn’t the most forgiving in the moment. After helping most of the people set up their tents I think it was safe to say that I was soaking wet from the rain, which after me and a couple of the guys had sat in the bathroom for an hour or so just having fellowship and trying to dry our clothes out a bit with a hand dryer[which didn’t work at all].

Myself and Thomas had made boerewors rolls by using his air fryer due to not being able to use a braai in the rain, which was quite nice. Which after we had ended the day quite early in order to get up fully refreshed for the early morning we had coming up the next day[a bit of water came dripping through the top of our tent directly onto our bedding which wasn’t the most pleasing thing to experience].

Ultimately, I would say all things considered, Day 1 was a success.

Tuesday 30 September

I had an early start to the day because I was part of the stage setup crew for the week, and we had to be at every school we went to at least 2 hours before Sound and Song took place in order to get everything set up and working 100%.

I had arrived at Hazyview Primary School where our whole setup crew had our first real test in terms of setting everything up properly within our time frame to give the Sound and Song group enough time to rehearse without any rush or mis-haps. We had executed the setup quite well in terms of how long it took us to finish everything and wait for the bikers to arrive[While we were waiting for the bikers and supporters we were offered coffee by the School principal].

The time came to praise and worship with all of the young kids from Hazyview Primary which was a sight to behold. You could feel God’s presence throughout the whole performance, and to see God work in all of their hearts was a sight to behold. Ps. Melusi had briefly ministered to all of the kids by leading them into a prayer of salvation while also ministering to them about the plan that God has for their life. It was a true blessing to experience something like that for the first time that I won’t ever forget.

After the entire outreach for the day was done we had quickly packed up all of the speakers and tech which was also done a lot quicker than we had anticipated to do it in. We were blessed with a free lunch at a local restaurant close to Hazyview Primary by their School Principal which was very delicious.

After I had finished my lunch I was offered to be a pillion on one of the rider’s motorcycles back to Merry Pebbles, and I didn’t even think twice to accept the offer. The ride back to Merry Pebbles was something I never would’ve ever thought I would experience if you had to ask me a couple of months ago. I think it’s also safe to say that after that ride on the motorcycle, I had gotten a sudden interest in motorbikes and desire to have one in the future.

We stopped at Floreat where all of the bikers had stopped their motorbikes, and it was at that moment that I realised the brief smell of burning rubber on the ride wasn’t something we passed by on the way back but that it in fact was a part of my shoe that had melted on the exhaust pipe of the motorbike, so now I at least have proof that I was on a motorbike.

I had ended the day off with a wonderful braai and fellowship with people regarding their experience from the day, and it brought me joy to see that they could also see and feel how God was working on the hearts of all those young kids at Hazyview Primary

Wednesday 1 October

Wednesday started off the same as Tuesday where we had to leave quite early to get to Nelspruit Hoerskool in time to set everything up in time for the band to rehearse a bit before performing to the students.

It was a unique experience because we had to go out into the school to invite kids with little cards seeing as the outreach was taking place in their break time, we were fortunate to get a bunch of students to come with the music that was playing loudly through the open doors of their auditorium.

While the outreach was taking place more and more students started to show up which was marvelous to see, mainly because it was their own choice to come or not. So to see so many students who willingly came to praise the Lord was something special. To once again see how God was working in the hearts of all of those young people was a spectacle, even in the small time slot that we were given to execute the outreach.

After the Sound and Song was finished, Ps. G had led the students in a prayer of salvation while also expressing the wonderful plans that God had for their lives, and I think we were able to plant seeds in their hearts regarding that matter to show them that they don’t have to follow the world’s way of living in order to have a ‘successful’ life.

After we had run out of time with the outreach we had packed everything up and headed back to Merry Pebbles where we had a picnic/ braai and fellowship afterwards.

We ended the picnic with Ps. John and Brother Bill speaking about the experience we had at NHS and the seeds that were sown in that short time. It was wonderful to hear everyone’s outlook of the day and moving forward from that time we had.

Thursday 2 October

Thursday was the most time-stressful of the whole trip from a stage setup point of view as we had to go to two schools in a short time period.

We had arrived at White-River Primary School where we had almost less than half of the time to set everything up and to give the band enough time to rehearse.

We were fortunately able to get everything up and running with time to spare. The band was successfully able to rehearse for the outreach. We were shortly after greeted by the school kids where we had a blast with praise and worship. The kids were so alive and reactive to the band which was quite a unique experience. Ps. Melusi had briefly ministered to the kids whereafter he had the kids say the Prayer of Salvation with him. And no matter how many times I had gotten to see it beforehand, it is always such a privilege for me to see how God moves in the hearts of every person that was present in the outreach.

After we had finished off the outreach at White-River Primary, we had to quickly move everything over the Rob Ferreira Highschool which was right next to the primary school. We were fortunate to have way more time to set everything up due to the kids writing exams which had started shortly before we had packed everything up at the primary school.

After we had set up the stage for the last time on the tour, we had to go and hand out invitation cards for the students to come to the outreach. We were able to get a bunch of students to willingly come due to our outreach taking part after school hours.

The band did an amazing job in praise and worship which was followed by a powerful message from Brother Bill who had led all of the students to be saved.

I could not have asked for a better way to end off the outreaches than what we did at Rob Ferreira Highschool. I was able to have a conversation with Ps. Christi afterwards where she gave more insight to me and the other people standing nearby about the power that these outreaches will have on all of the student’s lives going forward. Ps. Christi just made me realise how big these outreaches actually are than what I thought it was[I knew it was important, but I didn’t have the full revelation about how important it actually was before the conversationI had with her].

After we had packed everything up we were given the entire afternoon off to have fellowship with each other as well as enjoying all of the activities that Merry Pebbles had to offer.

Friday 3 October

The day came where we unfortunately had to pack up our tents to go back home after a successful week filled with outreaches.

The rain had caught up to us as we were busy getting ready to leave but fortunately wasn’t too big of a hassle.

I had taken the entire trip back to Witbank to meditate on the week as a whole, and it made me realise what a blessing it actually was to go out to all of those schools and to be able to spread the Gospel to students and teachers. I have a heart full of gratitude to have been able to go and not only praise the Lord with the rest of the people there, but also see how God was able to move amongst all of the students, young and old. Some of the kid’s facial expressions during all of the outreaches had made it very evident of the work that God was doing in their heart by giving them a new life and hope for a better future.

I truly am looking forward to all of the outreaches that are to come in the future, whether it is through Chariots of Light or Soul-Winning in general.

Saturday 4 October

Saturday was a real eye opener for me regarding the blessings that I already have in my life. It was something to experience seeing so many people who came out to the Victory Church outreach that have been under major pressure that the enemy had put on them over the years. Which is why it made me emotional on the day to see the joy it brought to all of the people who came out from the community who needed general aid, whether it was medical or just for food or clothing. I was baffled by how many of the people who were so committed in all of their roles that they were involved in, and seeing how everyone willingly wanted to help the people as much as they could, gave me goosebumps to see how they would lead people to prayer and salvation.

I saw the whole week how God was doing His Wonder Works through every single person who was serving on the day, from the people who were involved in the puppet show all the way to the people who were taking names and information down at the gate.

We were blessed with a final message from Brother Bill where He spoke about the love of God. It was truly a blessing to have spent the entire week with Brother Bill and Ginger and to witness how God was working through them to get people saved, recommitted as well as healed.

This last week was an experience that I will never forget and will be a marker moment for the rest of my life.
